At Baleària we have for years been committed to efficient ships that serve to reduce fuel consumption and minimise pollutant emissions by installing new, more efficient engines, using the very latest anti-fouling treatment on our ships' hulls, trim control systems and the addition of a series of eco fast ferries, achieving a 36% reduction in CO2 emissions on the Ibiza-Formentera route.

In 2019 we replaced the engines on two fast ferries, the Jaume III and the Ramon Llull, and acquired newly built eco-efficient tugs for the ports of Dénia and Ciutadella. One of them offers outstanding eco-efficiency, as the first tug in Spain to comply with NOx emissions reductions targets under the international MARPOL convention to prevent pollution. Particular mention should be made of our involvement in the Green and Connected Ports project, to measure fuel consumption and emissions generated in real time.
