Baleària added this vessel to its fleet in 2009 and in 2019 carried out the necessary work to convert it into a gas-powered smart ship<>. The ferry has all the technological innovations to offer the customer the highest level of comfort and entertainment on board.

Lounge seat

Standard seats with headrests located in various lounges with TV.

Superior lounge seat

Superior seating offers greater comfort. These are wider, reclining seats with headrests, located in quieter areas. They have TV access and a headphone connection.

Cabin

Cabins for up to four people, with a full bathroom, air conditioning, wardrobes and a TV.4 Anti-allergy cleaning system. The ship has cabins for people with reduced mobility and cabins for travelling with your pet.

The aim of Baleària's smart ship is to significantly improve the on-board experience for customers. These new services are designed to make the journey easier before boarding and to enhance your experience throughout the crossing. Accessing the ship or your accommodation with your phone, enjoying digital content on demand or being able to talk via WhatsApp are some of the improvements introduced by this new technology

QR Access

You can access the accommodation you have booked using a QR code downloaded onto your mobile phone. This means that, both to board and to get into your cabin, you do not need a printed ticket. You simply show the code on your phone.

Internet

This Baleària ship offers extensive connectivity thanks to the on-board Wi-Fi signal, with access to the network available by purchasing vouchers, allowing you to stay connected throughout your trip.

The 'Abel Matutes' enables you to enjoy sending text messages via Whatsapp, for free throughout the entire voyage, even where there is no mobile coverage.

Cinema and TV

You can access the new on-demand digital entertainment platform, with a wealth of content: movies, series, books, newspapers and magazines. You can do this from any mobile device by logging on to abordo.balearia.com.

Video surveillance of pets

Passengers travelling on this smart ship with their pets can keep an eye on how their animals are doing at all times, thanks to the video surveillance system that is integrated into the pet accommodation area. You can use your smart phone to check the behaviour of your travel companion.

Smart TV

This smart ship has Smart TVs in the cabins, from which you can access all the content on the digital entertainment platform. So, while you travel, you can still watch your favourite series or discover new films.

Digital signs

The 'Abel Matutes' has digital signs located throughout the ship's holds and in other areas. These announce safety measures as well as showing information from the company, including news and weather information.

The 'Abel Matutes' has a self-service restaurant and an indoor bar-cafeteria all year round. In high season there is also an à la carte restaurant and an outdoor bar-cafeteria in the terrace area. The restaurants and cafes offer a variety of food and drink menus.

This ship has a shop with a selection of gift items, cosmetics, books, newspapers and gourmet products typical of the area where the ferry operates. If you're a Club Baleària member, you'll receive a 10% discount on all your purchases.

PRM

The 'Abel Matutes' has lifts between the different decks to facilitate access to the passenger areas. It also has toilets, adapted seats and cabins for people with reduced mobility as well as safety anchors for wheelchairs.

Calm houses

On the 'Abel Matutes' the pet accommodation is located in an interior space in one of the holds. It has everything your pet needs to travel comfortably. Thanks to the video surveillance system, you can keep an eye on your pet throughout the journey.

Pet-friendly cabin

There are 8 pet-friendly cabins. The adapted floors in these cabins are vinyl, and a special cleaning protocol ensures maximum hygiene. In addition, if booked, customers can ask the crew for a drinking fountain/feeder and a platform with a puppy pad.
