Baleària has added the Rusadir to its fleet, a newly built cruise ferry equipped with an electric propulsion system powered by dual natural gas engines, and featuring numerous on-board services focused on passenger comfort and entertainment.

The cruise ferry was built in Germany and Norway, and was completed at the Nauta Shipard shipyard in Gdynia, Poland.

Electric propulsion with dual gas engines
The Rusadir is fully electric and has an electric plant with dual gas engines, technology that enables it to run on various fuels. These engines can alternate between fuel oil and natural gas consumption.

The vessel has two transverse propellers at the bow and one at the stern each with 2 MW of power, which, together with the electric motors, allow great manoeuvrability.

The aim of Baleària's smart ship is to significantly improve the on-board experience for customers. These new services are designed to make the journey easier before boarding and to enhance your experience throughout the crossing. Accessing the ship or your accommodation with your phone, enjoying digital content on demand or being able to talk via WhatsApp are some of the improvements introduced by this new technology

This ferry has lifts between the different decks to facilitate access to the passenger areas. It also has toilets, adapted seats and cabins for people with reduced mobility as well as safety anchors for wheelchairs.
