Baleària launches a new route between Valencia and Oran, bringing its services to Algeria to three weekly sailings

Spanish shipping company Baleària is continuing to expand its connections to Algeria with a new route linking the port of Valencia with Oran from this Wednesday, 18 December. The company is further diversifying its operations with the North African country and now offers three weekly sailings to Algeria: Valencia-Mostaganem (in operation since 2016), Valencia-Algiers (launched in October) and the new Valencia-Oran route. Departures on the new service are scheduled for Wednesdays at 6.30 p.m. from Valencia and Thursdays at 3 p.m. from Oran.

From 15 January, the shipping company will launch a service connecting Barcelona and Algiers for the first time, while also maintaining two weekly connections with Valencia: a regular service to the Algerian capital and another from Oran or Mostaganem, alternating each week.

Baleària's Managing Director, Georges Bassoul, stressed that the shipping company aims to consolidate its routes with the country: “Algeria is a strategic market for Baleària, where we see growth opportunities thanks to a high-quality offer tailored to passengers' needs, both in terms of services and route diversity.” Bassoul also noted that these new routes are important for freight transport between Spain and Algeria: “We offer a reliable, punctual freight service tailored to our customers' logistical requirements, helping to strengthen trade relations between the two countries.”

The shipping company's ferries assigned to these routes offer cabin and seat accommodation, as well as services including a café, shop and restaurant. Baleària also provides services tailored to the needs of passengers on these routes:  passenger service staff speak Arabic and French, the bars and restaurants serve halal food, and dedicated prayer rooms are available. The company also offers telephone assistance in Arabic to answer customers' queries.
