A city full of light
Arriving in Tenerife by ferry is highly recommended for those who want to enjoy the Atlantic Ocean from the very start of their trip. Get ready to visit El Teide and enjoy the island's great weather!
What to see in Tenerife
The island of Tenerife has a surface area of 2,034 km2, which means that touring it by car is the best way not to miss out any of its hidden beauty and amazing landscapes. Remember that if you travel by ferry to Tenerife with Baleària you can even take your own vehicle! One of the places you can discover by car is San Cristóbal de la Laguna, a World Heritage Site for its urban design. Other must-sees are the 1000-year-old tree, the Draco de Icod de los Vinos, and the cliffs of Los Gigantes that soar up to a height of 600 metres.
What to do in Tenerife
Any trip to Tenerife should involve a climb to the highest peak in Spain: El Teide, also a World Heritage Site. If you are a nature lover, you will be delighted by a visit to the Anaga Rural Park to discover its amazing laurel forests. In Tenerife you can enjoy activities ranging from whale watching, stargazing in El Teide National Park, with a sky so clear that it has Starlight certification, to sampling its rich gastronomy, including papas arrugadas (wrinkled potatoes) with mojo picón sauce. Another activity we recommend is swimming off one of its black beaches, which remind us of the Canary Islands' volcanic origins.
How to get to Tenerife
You can get to Tenerife by boat from Huelva on the Huelva - Gran Canaria - Tenerife route that Baleària operates with Fred Olsen Express. Check the timetables here and start your journey, Tenerife is waiting for you!
