At Baleària, our pets travel with the same comfort as us, the owners, with accommodations specially designed for their well-being, specific services, and technology so they can enjoy the journey, whichever option you choose. How do pets travel?

On board Baleària's ferries and fast ferries, pets travel comfortably with you, in pet-friendly accommodations such as cabins and seats where the whole family can relax during the crossing.

Additionally, we also have comfortable calm houses, from where you can follow your pet's journey through the video tracking system implemented on our smart ships.

Walking area

On ships where there is enough space, we have set up walking areas, pipican spaces where they can stretch their legs.

Video monitoring

On the 'smart ship', you can track your pet's journey in the calm houses through the installed cameras accessible from your mobile.

Bed and water bowl

The 'petfriendly' cabin accommodation comes with a bed (or several, depending on the pets traveling) and a water bowl for your furry companion.

Required documentation

You will need to carry the boarding pass for the pet and the animal's health card in force. *If you are traveling on the Algeciras-Tangier route, you must carry the documentation required by the EU and by the Kingdom of Morocco.

'Petfriendly' cabin

They travel like you!

In Baleària's petfriendly cabins, you can travel accompanied by your pet at all times.

This accommodation comes with a bed (or several, depending on the pets traveling) and a water bowl for your furry companion. Additionally, a special cleaning service is carried out on each journey to ensure hygiene and disinfection.

Depending on the journey, you will have a schedule to be able to walk on a deck specially designed for that purpose.

'Petfriendly' seat

A space where you can travel accompanied by your pet throughout the journey.

Dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, non-poultry birds... In this new accommodation, any pet can travel as long as it does not weigh more than 8 kilograms, including the carrier.

One pet per passenger is allowed.

In the 'petfriendly' seat, pets will travel in their carrier, located either on the passenger's lap or under the seat.

The carrier can be your own, although there will be carriers available in a specific area of the lounge, subject to availability. Under no circumstances can the pet leave the carrier.

Calm Houses

A space conditioned for your pet

This is a space of little houses for animals located, mostly, on the deck, garage, or other points of the ship. They are protected and properly ventilated places.

The calm houses have been designed with the advice of our head ethologist, Amparo Fortea, taking into account mainly the needs of your pet.

If your pet travels in one of our calm houses, you will not be able to visit them during the crossing, unless you travel on a ferry, where a visiting schedule will be established, or if you travel in the VIP accommodation of the Ramon Llull. It is worth noting that if you travel on a SmartShip, this type of ship is equipped with a videovigilance system so that you can observe your pet whenever you want.
