Explore Europe’s most cutting-edge botanical park. Immerse yourself in a space where you can learn about and enjoy the nature of the Pityusic Islands through biotechnology.

An ideal place to go beyond Ibiza’s beaches and discover sustainability, innovation and the environment in a completely new way. If you are looking for somewhere as idyllic as it is modern, we invite you to discover BIBO Park Ibiza and the world’s first plant piano!

The Ibiza Biotechnology Botanical Garden is just a 20-minute drive from Ibiza Town. Dedicated to environmental protection and raising awareness of biotechnology, it is a place that leaves no visitor indifferent. During your visit, you will have the opportunity to discover how biotechnology is applied throughout the park through a range of innovations:

  • Photobioreactor: thanks to sunlight and air, microalgae reproduce continuously and absorb quantities of carbon dioxide equivalent to the emissions absorbed by 100 trees, while releasing oxygen.
  • Atmospheric water: atmospheric water generators produce drinking water from water vapour present in the atmosphere.
  • Bioo Panel: see how smart gardens work through panels that generate electricity from organic matter in the soil, creating biological batteries to power agricultural sensors.
  • Plant piano: this system uses living plants as biological antennas to detect frequency changes when they come into contact with other objects.
  • Bioo sensor: this device only needs an irrigation point for installation and has a biological cell that generates energy from microorganisms and nutrients in the soil. It also has an electronic battery that stores the energy and powers sensors that monitor humidity, temperature, pH and other parameters.

BIBO PARK is also home to the different habitats of Ibiza and Formentera, giving you a complete tour that not only shows how this innovative technology can help care for the planet, but also introduces you to the islands’ native flora and zoological diversity.

Discover Ibiza’s different habitats: freshwater, dunes, coastline, woodland and rocky habitats. During your visit, you can enjoy a bonsai collection, observe beehives and discover references to history throughout the facilities.

The guided route through the park takes approximately 45 minutes and is available in several languages. At any time of year, we recommend combining your visit to the Ibiza Biotechnology Botanical Garden with a visit to Ibizaloe, just 5 kilometres from the park and run by the owners of BIBO Park. This aloe vera plantation has more than 20,000 plants and offers free guided tours, a museum and an included aloe vera tasting. Workshops and yoga classes are held throughout the year, and there is also a shop dedicated to aloe vera products.

A visit to this biotechnology garden will round off your experience on the island and allow you to discover the natural wealth Ibiza has to offer. Don’t miss it!
