Baleària promotes ski breaks from the Balearic Islands to the Catalan Pyrenees and Sierra Nevada

Baleària has signed partnership agreements with Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya and the Sierra Nevada Ski and Mountain Resort to promote ski breaks from the Balearic Islands to the Catalan Pyrenees and Granada’s winter resort. The shipping company is thus promoting winter mountain tourism on mainland Spain through its wide range of high-speed and ferry connections from Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera to the mainland throughout the year. The mountain resorts, meanwhile, offer Baleària customers special deals on ski passes at any of Catalonia’s six ski resorts — La Molina, Espot, Port Ainé, Boí Taüll, Vall de Núria and Vallter 2000 — as well as exclusive discounts for members of Baleària Club, the shipping company’s loyalty programme.

Baleària’s Commercial and Revenue Director, Jaime de la Puente, said that “this agreement highlights the added value of the maritime transport service the company provides to Balearic residents, who, thanks to an extensive schedule of ferry and fast ferry connections, can make better use of their time when taking breaks at Spain’s best ski resorts”. “Furthermore, Baleària’s commitment to the sustainability and eco-efficiency of its fleet, as well as to innovation and digitalisation on board, turns every sea crossing into part of the getaway and into a unique, memorable experience for passengers,” he added.  

Baleària operates one fast ferry and three ferry connections from the islands to Barcelona. It also operates two fast ferry connections from the archipelago to the Valencia Region, linking Palma, Ibiza and Formentera with the port of Dénia in a two-hour crossing, as well as ferry services to València from Mallorca and Ibiza.
